The tail end of January/beginning of February has been rather quiet on the tune front in my opinion. Many independent labels are recovering from the hectic xmas/new year period and are setting up for a productive year ahead. Here are some bangers which have come out recently and a couple of juicy bits to look forward to!
Joy O & Boddika – Swims (Swamp 81) Released: Jan 2012
Walk for me. Walk for me. Walk for me.
Redlight – Vampires (MTA Records) Released: Jan 2012
Technicolour – Centrifuge (Spearhead Records) Release date: Feb 2012
Forthcoming gems to look forward to………..
Die and Break – Grand Funk Hustle EP (Digital Soundboy) Release date: Feb 20th 2012
The title track is simply monstrous, but the rest of the EP is equally as phat. Check the video for ‘Peace and Dub’ below.
Stray, Sabre & Halogenix – Oblique/St Clair/Oblique (Synkro remix) (Critical) Release date: Feb 26th 2012
I’m actually lost for words at how good this release is going to be. Kasra (Critical head honcho) is a musical wizard when it comes to finding forward thinking dnb and it’s no wonder he has been praised so well recently. Big things are on the horizon for Critical but I am slightly miffed off that it’s not getting released before Seedy on the 24th! Oblique would have been perfect to play mid way through the night and St Clair is an emphatic dancefloor killer which will get any soul skanking.
Regardless of that, the 24th is going to be incredible! The Foamo party was outrageously good, our best yet…the photos and videos say it all really!
